Stock Market Holiday On Monday: As Janmashtami 2024 is appearing on 26th August, investors were looking out if the stock market is closed on Monday or Tuesday over Dahi Handi. Share market observed its last holiday on 15th August over Independence day in August. Then it only had its regular weekend holidays on Saturdays & Sundays.Surat Wealth Management
Though the share market is closed on various festivals, the stock market will not have long weekend holidays until 26th August. Share market will remain operational on 26th August 2024 during its regular hours & will not presume any holiday over Janmashtami 2024. It will also not observe any holiday on 27th August 2024 over Dahi Handi on Tuesday.
As per NSE & BSE stock market holidays list, there is just one trading holiday in August that falls on 15th August 2024. After 15th August 2024, the next trading holiday falls on 2nd October 2024. This means the Indian stock market will remain open on Monday 26th August 2024 & also on 27th August 2024.
Investors can also go to the BSE website — bseindia.com and click on the ‘Trading Holidays’ option on the top. After clicking the ‘Trading Holidays’ option, the complete list of stock market holidays in 2024 is opened.
Commodity market trading will also be operational for the entire day on August 26. This includes both the Commodity Derivatives Segment and Electronic Gold Receipts (EGR) Segment on the BSE, as well as all bullion, metals, and energy derivatives trading on the Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited (MCX), for both the morning and evening sessions will remain operational in regular hours.
The next stock market holiday is on October 2 on account of Gandhi Jayanti. After the October 2 closure for Gandhi Jayanti, the market will also be closed on November 1 for Diwali.
